Technical Description
Application:
Heating installations, 2-pipe systems with pump circulation, district heating (RVT 40 L).
RVT 40 F Kv = 0,01 - 0,8,
RVT 40 L Kv = 0,01 - 0,25
Max. Static Pressure:
1.0 MPa = 10 bar
Max. working temperature:
120°C.
Max. differential pressure:
When the valve is closed, the pressure difference between the valve inlet and outlet tends to open the valve. The maximum
pressure difference allowed for the valve not to open against a closed thermostat is:
RVT DN 10:
40 mWG » 400 kPa = 4 bar.
RVT DN 15 and 20:
20 mWG » 200 kPa = 2 bar.
RVT 40 DN 10:
15 mWG » 150 kPa = 1.5 bar.
RVT 40 DN 15 and 20:
10 mWG » 100 kPa = 1.0 bar.
For valves with reversed flow, the pressure difference between the valve inlet and outlet tends to close the valve. The maximum
pressure difference allowed for the control capacity of the thermostat not to be influenced is:
10 mWG » 100 kPa = 1 bar (for all sizes).
The maximum recommended pressure drop in order to avoid noise:
3 mWG » 30 kPa = 0.3 bar.
Material:
Valve body of hot pressed brass or diecast AMETAL®. O-rings and valve disc of EPDM rubber. Return spring and screw of acidproof
stainless steel. Upon delivery, the connecting thread for the thermostat is supplied with a plastic protective cap.
Surface treatment:
Valve body and coupling parts are nickel-plated.
Marking:
The valve is marked with TA nominal size, flow direction arrow, week of manufacture and on those formally certified
valves CENCER-marking (see page 2).
Certified in accordance with European
Standard EN 215 and HD1215.
License no. SE1.
Fitting:
Fit the valve in position where the thermostatic sensor will be influenced by air temperature representative of the
room. The thermostat can be fitted on the valve in any position. Where influence from unusual heat or cold
cannot be avoided, the RVT 60 B remote sensor should be used. The RVT 90 B remote sensor and
selector should be used when the valve is in inaccessible position , e.g. within convector casing etc.The protective cap must always be fitted to the valve until
the thermostatic head is fitted. The valve can be manually operated by the cap until thermostatic head is fitted.
If the protective cap is used to isolate when dis-mounting the radiator, the outlet must be plugged or capped.
The thermostatic head should only be fitted when all building and decorating has been completed. In the event of
long periods of manual operation handwheel RVT 55 should be fitted.
Should the valve be fitted in a position where it is exposed to unauthorised
interference a key operated manual control RVT 56 is available.
